My Kids Art

We Love Plaid Cat Art School!!!
My Husband is an artist, his brother & Father are Artists which makes my boys little potential artists! I myself can't even draw stick figures well. So I decided to put all three of my boys ages 13 to 6 years old in Plaid Cat Art school. I am amazed with the detailed work they bring home each week and all the different mediums they learn and use. Plus she makes it fun. If you are looking for a teacher who can help advance your gifted artist and not just do simple crafts then call Plaid Cat Art

About the TeacherDenise Hassett has been a graphic artist for over 19 years. After a stint as art specialist at an elementary school, Denise realized that her real passion was getting kids excited about art and helping them express themselves creatively. Because the public schools do not have the resources to give kids much exposure to the arts, Denise decided to begin teaching her own art classes where she can pursue her passion and encourage the creative spirit in children.
Children’s Art Exploration Classes Children explore their own creativity while learning art basics in a fun, energetic environment. Our classes give children a hands-on experience with a wide variety of art mediums and styles. They get the opportunity to create their own works of art using pencil, watercolor, acrylics, chalk and oil pastels and more. We also learn about famous artists and explore the different art genres. And the kids get to display their artwork at our art shows, held twice a year.

Harmons Simply Local

Fun! Comfortable!! Relaxing Getaway!!! The Grand America Hotel

I just celebrated my 19th anniversary with my husband! When my husband asked "what do you want to do for our anniversary?" The first thing I thought was...lets get AWAY!!!

Having kids and all their activities makes it hard to be gone for very long so we decided to stay local.
Now I am a mom of 3 boys and I am surrounded by legos, air soft guns, nerf guns, and shooting games! I wanted to go somewhere I could be treated like a Queen and get pampered, fed well, and sleep all night with out interruption! I wanted to be able to spend time with my husband and talk like best friends not business partners.

We chose The Grand America Hotel located in down town Salt Lake.
There I felt like royalty, from the Tuxedo chocolate dipped strawberries, a personalized letter, to the amazing spa and pool with plush custom robes. The Grand thinks of all the details to make you feel special.

We stayed in the Executive King Sweet. Our room was huge and comfortable. We sat and read in the living room and watched movies and we slept in the most comfortable bed that I have ever slept in at a hotel.

We walked the grounds and around hotel. I enjoyed the amazing unique shops like Jou Jou toy shop with beautiful window displays and fun original toys. They had the most amazing and beautiful deserts at La Bonne Vie ("the good life"). I loved the gardens. We had to check to see if the grass was real it was so green.

Now the best for last! You have to try The Grands Sunday Brunch. There was so much food I didn't know where to start. My husbands favorite were the Crab Legs!!! I think he had at least 3 helpings. I started with the omelets, then the Prime Rib and fancy cheese. They had a whole section of deserts, a sections that was low to the ground with kid friendly food. My very favorite was the crepes with bananas and nutella in the middle with fresh whip cream on top! It was divine!!!

The Grand America is very affordable and have great package deals online. Click here for more info.
Also The Grand has Afternoon Tea everyday at 1:00 and 3:30. I've already decided that I am setting up a girls shopping trip and we are going to have a tea party to start it off. Click here for Afternoon Tea.

If you need to get away and want to feel special then go to The Grand you will love it.
